Concrete blocks used by university of birmingham

Polysafe concrete blocks were recently used for research by the College of Engineering and Physical Science Accounting department in Birmingham.

Type B blocks were specifically used to undertake research surrounding the effects of gravity. Each block measured 2.3m long and weighed approximately 1.8 tonnes each.

Anthony Rogers explained that “We are using our Scintrex CG-5 gravimeter to measure a grid of gravity data on and around the blocks. The goal is to be able to ‘invert’ the data and retrieve information on the size/location/density”

Before delivery, the blocks were therefore sprayed with reference numbers and weighed accordingly. The weights were then emailed to Anthony Rogers prior to delivery, so he could plan the block layout and model the gravity signal.

Our Concrete blocks and barriers can be used for diverse projects and are manufactured to the highest of standards in a range of sizes and variations to suit your needs. For more information about Polysafe concrete barriers and concrete blocks, please call 01778 560555 or email: info@polysafe.co.uk.
